This poem was inspired by a kind, generous and handsome man who told me many moons ago that looking into my eyes was like looking into a forest. 


🌿 THE FOREST IN HER EYES

They say love is in the heart,
But I swear I found it in her eyes.
Not blue like oceans,
Not bright like skies
But the color of stillness,
Where mystery hides.

A deep forest green,
Laced with golden flame,
Like sunlight caught
in wild things
that refuse to be tamed.

Looking at her,
I forgot the world’s noise
There was only breath,
and a thousand unspoken joys.

She didn’t look at me…
She invited me in.
To the forest inside her
Where real love begins.
